Where do I even begin with this session? The only words that come to mind when I try to describe it are DREAM SESSION!
This engagement session was every bit as fun, effortless, and charming as the photos make it seem! Micaela and Camden are truly one of the sweetest couples I’ve met. The first time I spoke to them on the phone, I could tell right away that they would be such a fun and easy couple to work with. Then Micaela casually mentioned that they’d like to have their photos taken on a SAILBOAT! Cue me trying to sound calm and professional while secretly freaking out inside 😝 I told them YES I was absolutely up for that, so we got down to business, found a private sailing charter and planned their trip to the Outer Banks!
We started at the beach early that morning; the sun was BRIGHT and HOT already so we worked quickly to get some fun and casual photos since we knew the second part of their session would be more formal. Micaela shares my love of dune grass so we knew it would be a perfect backdrop for some of their photos! After running in the sand and splashing around in the tide for a bit, we parted ways and they got to spend the day exploring Hatteras Island for the first time!
Later that evening, we all met up at the marina to board the catamaran. We were blessed with the most beautiful, calm evening on the water and a gorgeous sunset as well! Since we chose a private sunset charter, we actually ended up spending over 2 hours on the boat which gave us lots of time to relax and get to know each other better! By the time the sun was setting and we were ready to begin shooting, I hardly had to give any posing cues because we were all comfortable and having fun!
We had such an amazing time getting to sail the Pamlico Sound at sunset (thanks to Jay at Phillips Boatworks for being a great captain) and I could not be more excited to share these photos with you!
Micaela and Camden, thank you so much for spending the day on the Outer Banks with Nick and me for your engagement session! We can’t wait for your wedding in January!
